Barlows Fire and Security recently had the opportunity to give back to the local community when the Wrexham Miners Project was targeted by vandals at the beginning of the year. This senseless act led to considerable damage to the building and loss of valuable assets, something which left the project in a vulnerable position.
Wrexham Miners Project
Wrexham Miners Project is a community-led initiative with a goal of preserving the history of local miners, relying on generous support from others. The project offers an array of activities for all ages, successfully providing both social and educational opportunities.
At Barlows Fire and Security we are NSI gold and a BAFE accredited company, specialising in providing high quality fire and security solutions, both installing and servicing nationwide with 25 years’ experience. Operating 24/7 allows us to offer support to our contracted customers 24 hours a day, with the aid of our out of hours help desk and engineers we are always on hand to assist.
The Installation
When we learnt of the break in at Wrexham Miners Project, we were eager to offer a helping hand, forging the beginning of a partnership between us at Barlows Fire and Security and the Miners Project. With the help of our experienced security engineers, we donated both time and resources to install an enhanced security system to the highest standard at no cost to the project. This installation consisted of us fitting a top of the range Orisec security system with app control providing flexibility to users, along with an on-going service contract ensuring the system remains up to date offering heightened peace of mind, with the objective of deterring any future incidents.
The newly installed security system has offered reassurance to the staff and volunteers at Wrexham Miners Projects allowing them to continue with their valuable works. George Powell, a spokesperson for the project expressed his appreciation of this act: “The support from Barlows has been incredible. Their generosity has not only helped us recover from the break in but has also provided us with peace of mind. We can now focus on our mission, knowing that our premises are secure.”
