Barlows team of skilled joiners were appointed to carry out sympathetic joinery repairs to the timber beams to the front and side elevations of the historic Jubilee Hall in Malpas.
As the decorators carried out their preparation it soon became apparent that there was a large amount of rot to much of the framing timberwork, finials and windows. The repairs were carried out by cutting out and removing the rot and splicing in new sections of timber using traditional jointing methods where possible. The repaired joints were then filled and rubbed flush prior to priming in preparation for redecoration.
Works carried out:-
- Machine and mould both soft and hardwoods to suit existing sections.
- Splice repairs and replacement of large oak beams
- Resin and filling repairs
- High level access scaffolding and road management arrangements
