Ruabon is one of the larger villages in Wrexham, with a population of approximately 3,000.
It has a rich history which can be traced through the past 2,000 years. Sites of historical and archaeological interest still remain within walking distance of the village.
The Village Hall was built in 2004 and is owned and maintained by Ruabon Community Council. It can be hired by members of the community for children’s parties and activities; family gatherings; local groups; business meetings and fund raising events.
In the first few months of 2014, attention was paid to upgrading the energy efficiency of the building. 80% funding was granted by Northern Marches Cymru to install new lighting; more loft insulation and new blinds.
On the retirement of the Sports Association Trustees of the Pavilion, RCC members were delighted to accept 100% funding for the supply and installation of solar panels which completed the upgrading wish list for 2014 at minimal cost to the community.
Barlows UK was their chosen supplier for the solar PV panels and designed a 4kW system comprising premium LG mono PV panels.
