The construction sector historically has been generally made up of male engineers. This has resulted in our Directors and Contract Managers, who in the main progressed through our apprentice program holding the more senior roles within the Company. We are constantly promoting construction roles for women and within all areas of our business.
At present women represent a smaller proportion of our workforce and have senior roles within the business. They are represented in our accounts department, HR , payroll, clerical and administrative roles. This gender imbalance is the reason for our gender pay gap.
