Barlows UK completes prestigious installation at the Mailbox, Birmingham
Barlows, the UK’s leading electrical contractor and property maintenance specialist, was proud to be appointed as the main electrical contractor for the complete fit-out of Gas Street Social, on behalf of Approved Shop Fitting and Interiors. This is a new restaurant and bar based within the prestigious Mailbox Centre, Birmingham – the latest venture of the Shaker Group.
Our highly skilled team carried out the full electrical installation and data works to help transform an empty shell into a modern contemporary space inspired by the industrial and cultural heritage of Birmingham.
The project ran smoothly and all the works were carried out on time and to the highest standard. The restaurant opened for business in April 2015 and is proving very popular with Birmingham’s trendy crowd.
“We had just 6 weeks in which to finish the project and the team worked extremely hard to ensure our high quality standards were met within these challenging timescales” says Richard Hamer, Contracts Manager, Barlows UK.
The premises were wired from scratch and new distribution panels were installed. The installation included a full scene-setting dimming panel for lighting control, and a new, complete fire alarm installation interfaced to the Mailbox Centre with a fully monitored intruder alarm. Emergency lighting throughout was also installed and complete data terminals, tills and communication wiring were also put in place.
